E-Commerce is no longer something that we consider as a palette that has not been punched up as the gradual progress in technology allows the creators to bring betterment in it that is useful and is less limited in what it can view. The allurement with the subject lies with the utilization of both different factors and pristine innovative stages and the ways past businesses have been laid out differently, bringing in the effective delivery service. The continuous growth can be perceived through the progress in ways including artificial intelligence, blockchain, the internet of things, virtual reality, and others.

Since pandemic and even before that most of us now prefer buying online rather than giving ourselves a physical hassle. When buying online you would rather prefer to buy from a known website than any other. Most of us are aware of some of the widely known online businesses that we can trust blindly including Amazon, eBay, Groupon, JB Hi-Fi, and others.

It comes as no surprise that Amazon is one of the leading e-commerce businesses in this era. It is the topmost site where most of the countries from around the world prefer shopping.

“AMAZON DRIVING SWIFTLY ON THE ROAD TO SUCCESS”

Amazon, according to statistics comes at the top of the list of leading-e-commerce businesses, in the US. You will be thunderstruck by the net worth that Amazon makes in the USA, $386 billion. The number of sales gained from selling electronics is one of the major factors describing why Amazon is in the lead. With food segment is the fastest-growing segment, taking the share around 24%. Nevertheless, the predominance of about 80% is held by books, music, and videos.

The reason is clear behind such figures that amazon is making, the trust relationship that it has to build with people over the years. Whatever the consumer wants to buy, they will first have a look at it on amazon. The site has built such a strong connection with millions of products to choose from. The site has a padlock, indicating safe and secure surfing and purchase.

Now you must be thinking that there are other leading e-retailer too. Let us have a look at those online businesses and how they are surviving in this highly competitive industry in other parts of the world.

“EBAY/GROUPON- HEY, WE ARE IN THE LEAD TOO”

With Amazon outshining itself in different parts of the world, eBay has positioned itself with 2nd lead. With having the first lead in e-retail in Australia. Australia, as well known has been positioned as the 6th largest economy of the world., with its e-commerce industry shining in the world of online retailers. eBay for many years has been operating in Australia. We have an understanding of how its website is user-friendly and not as stern as Amazon. Since Amazon has just entered the Australian e-commerce industry, Aussies do not have that relationship that they have with eBay and other e-retailers.

With eBay leading the Australian market for more than 18 years, Amazon will not have an easy way out to shine in the eyes of Aussies. The eBay website offers image search, to surf through images and Find it on eBay; allowing people to shop similar items they see on other social platforms including Facebook or Instagram. Moreover, eBay has been a hub of support for small businesses, by the provision of the platform and making them excel in this e-retail. Another source of attraction that we are aware of is eBay’s Guaranteed Delivery. It has further enhanced the relationship with customers.

Similarly, Groupon is not far behind. It has a customer base of more than 3 million. You must be awe-struck by the number of people that shop from Groupon, but this comes as no surprise as it is positioned under the top 15 leading e-retailers.

Now, this leaves us with the question that whether Amazon will be able to build such a strong image in Australia?

“AMAZON- READY TO TAKE OVER?”

With Amazon operating in more than 100 countries and eBay in just 39 countries, the question’s focal point is the Australian e-commerce industry. As Amazon has just stepped into the market, it might not be feasible to give an exact answer. Amazon is strong. It is one of the major key players in the e-commerce industry and knows how to stay at the top. However, the image and trust that eBay has developed over for almost two decades will not be easy to combat. We all have visited Amazon and eBay sites which, site do you prefer to buy from? Most of you must have their dibs on eBay. It has a vast variety for us to choose from and with its user-friendly graphics, it has made it easier for us to search and shop.

Maybe in the coming years, Amazon comes up with a plan that will help it in taking over eBay and Groupon. However, for now, it is hard to say that Amazon can do so.
